Account Maps

Account Maps lists all of the account mapsClosed that administrators have created for the purpose of merging and summing importedClosed trial balance filesClosed into master trial balancesClosed. It also enables administrators to manage account maps and to create new ones.

How Account Maps is Used

Account maps in the list are made available in the Create Master Trial Balance section of General Ledger Manager based on a year that you choose. You must select an account map to create a master trial balance. Only those account maps whose master chart of accounts year is the same as the account map year that you select in Create Master Trial Balance will be available for selection.

Furthermore, the account map that you select determines the trial balance files that will be available for you to choose for master trial balance creation. Only those trial balance filesClosed that were imported with the same charts of accountsClosed included in the chosen account map will be available for master trial balance creation in Create Master Trial Balance.

How Account Maps is Sorted

The account maps are sorted in descending order by Most Recent Master Chart of Account Year. You can click the Most Recent Master Chart of Accounts Year column heading to toggle the list of accounts between descending and ascending order. No other sorts may be done on this list.

Data Displayed in Account Maps

The map name, its description, and the year of its master chart of accounts display for each account map in the list.

Functions Available in Account Maps

In addition to viewing/searching the list of account maps in this view, you can do all of the following:

  1. Clicking Create an account map.
  2. Defining the properties of the account map.
  3. Mapping accounts in selected charts of accounts to the master chart of accounts in the account map.
